Pubmed is a free database from the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) containing more than 29 million citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and e-books. Citations link to the free full-text content contained in Pubmed Central and paid content from academic journal publishers.

We recommend Pubmed with Find @ Iona instead of going directly to Pubmed, because Find @ Iona will authenticate users as Iona College patrons and allow you to access Iona-subscribed content from within Pubmed using the Find @ Iona button.

The National Library of Medicine provides up-to-date Pubmed tutorials covering basic searching in Pubmed, advance searching using Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), the use of filters, and more tips and tricks for searching Pubmed for health sciences research articles.
