If you are quoting a source with a spelling or grammatical mistake, write [sic] in square brackets next to the error to indicate the mistake is not your own.
Taylor (2022) wrote that "parents are responsible for there [sic] children's actions" (p. 22).
You can avoid using [sic] by paraphrasing the point and adding a citation.
An argument can be made that parents are responsible for what their children do and say when these actions cause extreme harm (Taylor, 2022).
